Educational Background and Current Interests

I studied biology and received my PhD in molecular biology at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. After several years of research in Epigenetics and chromatin regulation in Vienna (Institute of Molecular Pathology), Freiburg (Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics) and Mexico (National Autonomous University of Mexico), I joined the Next generation Sequencing facility at Helmholtz Munich in 2019 and have been leading the Core Facility Genomics since 2021.

The Core Facility Genomics combines three different platforms: Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), Genotyping (Illumina Microarray), and Bioinformatics, working together to provide a full service, but keeping the flexibility to accept requests at any step of the process. We offer comprehensive support including experimental design, nucleic acid extraction, library preparation for different applications, sequencing, genotyping and bioinformatics analysis. A complimentary portfolio of data analysis training courses and support with grants and publications help our users in achieving their goals.
