Innovative solutions to sustainable Soil Phosphorus management

Innosoilphos

Mineral phosphorus fertilizersare a limited resource and their excessive use causes eutrophication and threatens drinking water quality. Therefore, they need to be replaced by alternatives. InnoSoilPhos optimized the application of bone char as alternative fertilizer. To promote the release of P from such fertilizers microbes are essential and therefore we study community dynamics as well as phenotypic and genotypic traits of potential bioinoculants. The project has been funded by the BMBF in the framework BonRes.
