Dr. Doris Bengel studied biology with a focus on developmental biology at the University of Würzburg, Germany. After graduating in 2004, she pursued her PhD at the Helmholtz Institute of Stem Cell Research in Munich, unter the mentorship of Prof. Heiko Lickert. In 2009, she was awarded her doctorate by the TUM School of Life Sciences. Following a maternity leave, Dr. Bengel joined the Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging (IBMI) at Helmholtz Munich and the affiliated Chair of Biological Imaging at Technische Universität München in 2014, where she served as a laboratory manager. In 2016, she was appointed Head of the Biology Central Support, the core facility of IBMI.
