The 2025 Gordon Research Conference (GRC) "Histone and DNA modifications" conference was organized by Robert Schneider from the Institute for Functional Epigenetics (IFE) at Helmholtz Munich and Chery Arrowsmith from the Structural Genomics Consortium, Toronto.  It took place with 138 participants 21.-25. July 2025 in Il Ciocco, Italy.

The five-day long “Regulation of Genome Function by Histone and Nucleic Acid Modifications in Health, Development and Disease” conference brought together experts in the field from all over the world to present and discuss cutting-edge research and to foster new collaborations among scientists of all career stages. The GRC was preceded by a two-day Gordon Research School (GRS) organised by Ann-Sophie Pepin (IFE, Helmholtz Munich) and Ann Knoerlein (Memorial Sloan Kettering, New York). The GRS was specifically tailored for graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career reseachers.
