Research group Health Care Management

The research group analyses targeted strategies of prevention and care of patients with chronic diseases, from an economic perspective.

Basic analyses cover calculation of cost of patient management and development of approaches of outcome-oriented patient management, taking into account the regulatory environment. In order to evaluate strategies of patient management, with regard to cost and patient-relevant outcomes, econometric approaches, machine learning, and decision-analytical modeling are used. Disease-specific benchmarks, especially with regard to health-related quality of life, are developed for patient outcome in order to identify risk groups whose care can be improved by stratified approaches of health care.

Results will inform the management of patients with chronic diseases, and support shared decision-making in health care.
