Dr. Ryo Ichijo
IRBMRyo Ichijo is a research scientist in Dr. Yuval Rinkevich’s lab, in the Institute of Regenerative Biology and Medicine, Helmholtz Munich. He is interested in skin ageing. His current research focuses on fibroblast ageing, especially subcutaneous fascia.
The overall aim of his research is to develop therapeutic options for chronic skin wounds with reduced scarring and enhanced regeneration.
Ryo Ichijo's dermatological research started during his postdoc study in Prof. Fumiko Toyoshima's lab, at Kyoto University, which was focused on epidermal stem cells and skin aging. He obtained his PhD study in Prof. Fumiko Toyoshima's lab at Kyoto University, where he started to be interested in stem cell biology and ageing.
