Program Highlights
The program features keynote lectures by internationally renowned researchers, including Viviane Tabar (New York City, USA), Timm Schroeder (Basel, Switzerland), Jacob Hanna (Rehovot, Israel), Hongkui Deng (Beijing, China), Maria-Elena Torres-Padilla (Munich, Germany) and Wolfram-Hubertus Zimmermann (Göttingen, Germany). Scientific sessions will cover topics such as pluripotency, organoids, aging processes, cancer stem cells, regenerative therapies, and computational stem cell biology for more than 400 participants. A Presidential Symposium will recognize this year’s GSCN awardees. Early-career as well as senior researchers will present their work in poster sessions and short talks, providing opportunities for exchange and networking with leading experts. This scientific exchange is at the heart of the GSCN Conference and is complemented by two social events that offer additional opportunities to connect.
“The GSCN Conference brings together the leading minds in stem cell research and creates a space where new ideas can emerge and collaborations flourish. For Helmholtz Munich, it is both a great pleasure and an honor to host this important event,” says Prof. Heiko Lickert, Director of the Institute of Diabetes and Regeneration Research at Helmholtz Munich and this year’s President of the GSCN.
Public Event for Everyone
The conference will conclude with a public event. On Friday, October 17, 2025, GSCN and Helmholtz Munich invite the public to the Presseclub Munich. Under the title “Stem Cell Research in Diabetes, Aging, and Rare Diseases – Opportunities, Risks, and Perspectives”, diabetes expert and stem cell researcher Heiko Lickert and pediatric diabetes specialist Prof. Anette-Gabriele Ziegler, will discuss with Hartmut Geiger (University Ulm) and Ole Pless (Fraunhofer ITMP Hamburg) on the podium current developments, complemented by short films.
