From 01/00 -12/ 05 she studied Study of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany.

From 01/06-07/06 she worked as a student assistant at the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart finishing up a project about substitution of fat-soluble vitamins in children with Cystic fibrosis. After that she conducted her PhD-thesis from 08/06 - 10/10 at the lab of Prof. Erwin Schleicher and Prof. Cora Weigert at the University of Hohenheim/Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetology, Angiology, Nephrology and Clinical Chemistry, University Hospital, Eberhard Karls University, Tübingen, Germany.

After her maternal leave she began working at the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetology, Angiology, Nephrology and Clinical Chemistry, University Hospital, Eberhard Karls University, Tübingen, Germany as a scientist and study coordinator.

Since 02/13 she is working as scientist at the Institute for Diabetes Research and Metabolic Diseases of the Helmholtz Center Munich at the University of Tübingen. In 2015 she was appointed team lead of the Study Center Diabetology of the IDM.
