Inplamint & NutriSTORM

Huge amounts of fertilizers are not used by the crop which imposes threats for environmental health by getting leached to groundwater or as greenhouse gases. Inplamint (INcreasing agricultural nutrient-use efficiency by optimizing PLAnt-soil-Microorganism), supported by fundes from the BMBF aimed to optimize nutrient storage in agricultural systems by (1) improving plant-soil-microorganisms interactions and  (2) by the application of high carbon amendments to facilitate microbial nitrogen uptake.  The Green ERA-Hub project NutriSTORM investigates the role of nutrient stoichiometry and soil carbon amendments on a European level and in controlled greenhouse experiments to optimize carbon amendments and improve the implementations at field scale.
