Sustainability at Helmholtz Zentrum München

As a research center for environmentally related diseases, we are committed to sustainability. This includes research for sustainability to improve people's health and life expectancy, promote healthy ageing and reduce the burden of disease. It also includes sustainable research, through a sustainable orientation of the administrative, organisational and infrastructural processes in the Center.

Research for Sustainability

With our research, we contribute to the sustainable development of our society, especially in the fields of evironmentally triggered diseases, climate change, human and public health, plant genomics, big data and artificial intelligence.

Sustainable research

We are building up a sustainability management system that uses resource-saving and future-oriented standards, guidelines and approaches for the organisation, administration and infrastructure of the center as a basis for sustainable research. The concept is based on the guidelines and fields of action of the "Sustainability Management in Non-University Research Organisations" LeNa 2016.
