• The Institute of Molecular Toxicology and Pharmacology (TOXI) investigates mechanisms by which the organism responds to physiological signals and foreign chemicals. The aim is to understand how these factors affect cellular signaling and genetic programs and the implications for the whole organism, including development and progression of chronic diseases such as cancer, autoimmune diseases and metabolic disorders. This knowledge enables the development of strategies for reducing health risks and innovative therapeutic approaches. It also supports the systematic drug discovery/development process of the center.
