The Experimental Translational Oncology Group builds the interface between the research unit and clinical partners. We establish and analyze clinical cancer patient cohorts. Clinical samples are processed for omics data generation at multiple levels to identify prognostic stratification markers and develop targets for novel therapeutic approaches in precision oncology.
- We establish retrospective and prospective clinical cancer patient cohorts with biomaterial from primary and recurrent tissue specimens in conjunction with comprehensive clinicopathological and clinical follow-up data together with our clinical partners
- We generate multi-level omics data sets from cancer patient cohorts and model systems for the identification of prognostic stratification markers and therapeutic targets
- We analyze the heterogeneity of tumor cells and their microenvironment considering spatial and histopathological context in matched primary and recurrent tumour specimens to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying recurrence and the identification of target structures for therapy resistance
- We analyze molecular targets and drugs modulating therapy response in established model systems
