Fabian Theis and Carsten Marr (Institute of Computational Biology) together with Timm Schroeder (ETH Zurich) and Laleh Haghverdi (EMBL-EBI Hinxton, previously ICB) have been awarded the 2017 Erwin Schroedinger Prize in recognition of their interdisciplinary collaborative work generating mathematical and machine learning methods to acquire better descriptions of cell populations and forecasting individual cell fates.

The Erwin Schroedinger Prize is awarded in recognition of outstanding scientific or technically innovative achievements involving interdisciplinary collaborations.  For more information, see the Helmholtz Zentrum Press Release and the official website
