Unbiased identification of sucrose-responsive neuronal circuits in control of glucose metabolism
To better understand how the central nervous system regulates glucose homeostasis, we used an unbiased approach to identify molecular signatures in neurons activated by a hypercaloric, high-sucrose diet. Our goal is to uncover how specific neuronal populations influence systemic glucose control and insulin sensitivity during caloric excess. These insights will lay the groundwork for developing new therapeutic strategies to combat diabetes, a rapidly growing global health challenge with serious consequences for quality of life and healthcare systems.
