Maria Keller Receives "Lipidologie-Förderpreis"

Maria Keller, PostDoc at the HI-MAG receives the „Lipidologie-Förderpreis“ of the D-A-CH Gesellschaft Prävention von Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen e.V., which is sponsored by the Christina Katharina Schmitz-Stiftung.

Maria Keller received the award for her project "Epigenetic Changes in Adipose Tissue of Patients with Lipodystrophy", in which she will investigate the epigenetic consequences for subcutaneous adipose tissue in a newly discovered form of severe partial lipodystrophy.

Maria Keller studied Ecotrophology and Molecular Nutritional Sciences at the Universities of Kiel and Vienna.  Since May 2020, she is a PostDoc and independent project leader in the Clinical Obesity Research group at HI-MAG under the direction of Matthias Blüher. Her research focuses on the genetics and epigenetics of obesity and its comorbidities.

The “Lipidologie-Förderpreis” is endowed with 10,000€ and is awarded to young scientists or physicians who want to conduct innovative research in the field of lipid metabolism and its disorders. For more information on the D-A-CH Society and the Lipidology Award please follow this link:
