I am a professor of data science at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at Bielefeld University. As part of a cooperation with the Helmholtz Zentrum München, I also lead the Biostatistics group at the Institute of Computational Biology.
Please visit the Data Science group's web page for information about my activities in Bielefeld.
Research Interests
- Stochastic modelling and statistical inference of dynamic processes in genetics and molecular biology, in particular diffusion processes / stochastic differential equations
- Uncertainty quantification
- Analysis of single-cell regulatory heterogeneities (StochasticProfiling Project; see also Research Features article)
- Integration of genomic, transcriptomic and clinical/environmental data
- Computer-intensive methods and Bayesian statistics
Research projects and funding of the Biostatistics group are described on the group page.
Core Facility Statistical Consulting
I am head of the Core Facility Statistical Consulting which offers statistical support for all members of Helmholtz Zentrum München.
