Igor is a physicist by training and got is Bachelors degree from ITMO University in St Petersburg, Russia, in 2008. After completing his Masters thesis in 2010, he went on to develop microfluidic devices for the analysis of biological objects with high-resolution microscopy for his PhD thesis, defending his project in 2013.  He developed these studies further as a visiting scientist in the Department of Physics at the University of Warwick, UK, before joining the Schneider lab in September 2015.  His current research focuses on gene expression dynamics at the single cell level over multiple generations.
