Child Care Center "ganz schoen frech"

The day care center on the Helmholtz Munich campus offers our employees the opportunity to have their children looked after by certified childminders and preschool educators from the age of six months until they enter school. The long opening hours, flexible booking times and the proximity to the workplace at the Neuherberg location are important features that make it possible to better reconcile work and family life.

The operator of the day care center is AWO Kreisverband München-Land e.V.

The employees are regularly trained in advanced training courses. The entire team works according to modern pedagogy, the educational concept is revised on a regular basis. The meals for the children are balanced and healthy and comply with the standards of the German Nutrition Society. Fruit and vegetables are offered exclusively from organic farming.

A good partnership with parents regarding the child’s education is the basis for our pedagogical work. Daily communication with the educators/caregivers – for example when you bring or pick up your child – will keep you informed about your child’s day.

At the entrance to the center, a colorful, seasonal decoration gives a first impression of the day-to-day educational activities. Regular cross-group activities offer the children the opportunity to get to know the "big ones" and the "little ones" and to make social contact, for example during time in the garden or during a project day. The children also enjoy regular days in the forest and excursions. Furthermore, festivals from different cultures and religions are celebrated at the center, such as a mini-Oktoberfest or a lantern procession for St. Martin’s Day.

Twice a year, there is the opportunity to have a development discussion with your child’s group educator, and of course more often if there is a need for discussion.

Prior to your child’s start at the day care center, you as parent will have a preliminary conversation with the head of the center. A gentle and individual acclimatization phase enables the children to adjust as easily as possible to the transition from at-home to out-of-home care.

The children are also prepared for the transition from nursery to kindergarten and from kindergarten to primary school. When leaving the day care center, each child receives his or her own individually designed portfolio folder with learning stories, so that he or she can remember the time in the nursery and/or kindergarten for a long time to come.

My name is Jana Paul, I was born in 1982 and originally come from the German state of Thuringia.

After my studies of educational science, I was able to gain experience in the pedagogical work as a group leader in an integrative daycare center. Since September 2008 I have been living in Unterschleißheim and have been able to get further experience in working as a deputy manager of a childcare center. Most recently, I worked as deputy manager at the childcare center "ganz schön frech".
Now I am very happy to take over the management of the Kinderhaus "ganz schön frech".

The administrative and organizational duties require a lot of time, but our educational mission always comes first for me. This means taking responsibility for the children in our care and creating an environment that allows each child to develop in the best possible way. This includes intensive staff care, as well as a trusting partnership with the parents. Everybody should feel comfortable at our center: Children, parents, staff as well as all visitors to our childcare center "ganz schön frech".

I am looking forward to the assignment, a trustful cooperation and a pleasant time getting to know each other.
