Core Facility Laboratory Animal Services

Core Facility Laboratory Animal Services, CF-LAS is a central service facility for biomedical research at the Center and ensures the breeding and housing of rodents (mouse and rats) and zebrafish. We support Helmholtz Munich users with various services related to animal welfare, training, and experimentation.

Our Services

Currently our scientific services are restricted to the scientists of Helmholtz Munich.

As part of our scientific service, we offer:

  • Maintenance, care taking, and breeding of laboratory animals
  • Veterinary care and hygienic monitoring of animal colonies and provision of veterinary medicines
  • Advice on the selection and development of animal models as well as on questions of animal welfare and laboratory animal science
  • Training courses on laboratory animal science topics
  • Embryo transfer and cryopreservation services
