Core Facility Laboratory Animal Services, CF-LAS is a central service facility for biomedical research at the Center and ensures the breeding and housing of rodents (mouse and rats) and zebrafish. Our Services

Currently our scientific services are restricted to the scientists of Helmholtz Munich.

As part of our scientific service, we offer:

Maintenance, care taking, and breeding of laboratory animals
Veterinary care and hygienic monitoring of animal colonies and provision of veterinary medicines
Advice on the selection and development of animal models as well as on questions of animal welfare and laboratory animal science
Training courses on laboratory animal science topics
Embryo transfer and cryopreservation services

Welcome to CF-LAS

The Core Facility Laboratory Animal Services (CF-LAS) is a central service facility for biomedical research at Helmholtz Munich and ensures the breeding and housing of rodents (mice and rats) and fish (zebrafish). We support users with various services related to animal welfare, training, and experimentation.

Our Core mission

The CF-LAS research and development programs are devoted in particular to laboratory animal hygiene, reproduction biology and animal welfare as well as to modeling human diseases. These research activities are the scientific basis for our services.

Since 2011 I am leading the Core Facility Laboratory Animal Services. In CF-LAS we offer state-of-the-art animal husbandry including veterinary care under high animal welfare standards and rely on the latest technologies, some of which we helped to develop ourselves.
