Metabolic Cross-Talk between the Mitochondria and the Nucleus
Metabolic Cross-Talk between the Mitochondria and the Nucleus
Epigenetic modifications are derived from metabolites, suggesting metabolism plays a key role in defining gene transcription in cells. In this project, we aim to understand how information is exchanged between the nucleus and the mitochondria. We investigate how the mitochondria informs the nucleus of the cellular metabolic state, and how the nucleus shape mitochondria function and activity. We utilise metabolic tracers coupled with state-of-the-art SIMS imaging to address these questions.
