Clinical Chemistry Lab

The Institute of Clinical Chemistry and Pathobiochemistry is an important interface between routine diagnostics, research and teaching. We are the laboratory analytical core facility of the German Health Center for Diabetes Research (DZD) and are active at the Institute for Diabetes Research and Metabolic Diseases (IDM). In addition, there are numerous national and international research collaborations.

About our research

The Clinical Chemistry Lab at the Institute of Clinical Chemistry and Pathobiochemistry carries out all types of clinical-chemical high-throughput analyses, as well as special analyses and molecular biological tests under accredited conditions (DIN EN ISO 15189). More than 6 million results are reported annually in a 24-hour shift service. The time to report results to the sender is less than 70 minutes for the majority of parameters (emergencies significantly faster). We are also available to external senders via the MVZ of the University Clinic Tübingen.
