We aim to improve personalized healthcare by integrating OMICs data using statistical, bioinformatical and machine learning approaches.
Scientific Focus
The Wang-Sattler group is studying metabolic diseases (e.g. type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases). We use statistical, bioinformatical and machine learning approaches to integrate metabolomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, genomics data, and information from public databases to better understand the pathophysiological mechanisms. This helps us to identify candidate biomarkers and drug targets, with the final goal to translate our discoveries into clinical practice.
