Adel Ben-Kraiem selected for FENS Forum Early Career Training Programme 2024
Adel Ben-Kraiem, a postdoctoral researcher in the Jais Lab at HI-MAG, has been selected for the Early Career Training Programme (ECTP) of the FENS Forum 2024, a highly competitive initiative that recognizes and supports exceptional early-career researchers in the field of neuroscience.
The funding provided by the program enables awardees to undertake a 3-week short lab stay at a selected host laboratory. The ECTP program aims to facilitate opportunities for skill-building in neuroscience techniques, knowledge-sharing, and networking in a new work environment, laying the groundwork for future collaborations.
Adel Ben-Kraiem joined the research group of Dr. Alexander Jais, focused on 'Diet-induced Metabolic Alterations', in April 2023. His current research project investigates the role of prepronociceptin (PNOC) neurons in the medial preoptic area of the hypothalamus in regulating energy expenditure and adipose tissue function. As a researcher within the first five years after completing his doctoral degree, Adel was eligible to participate in the ECTP.
The Early Career Training Programme is generously supported by the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) and the International Brain Research Organization's (IBRO) Pan-European Regional Committee.
