Career Center for Postdocs & Doctoral Researchers

Founded with support from the Helmholtz Association’s Initiative and Networking Fund (2018–2024), the Career Center for Doctoral Researchers & Postdocs acts as a central hub, strengthening talent management and career development initiatives. The Career Center is a valuable resource for coaching and guidance, helping young researchers identify their strengths, values, and interests. It's primary goal is to support individuals to choose the best career path for themselves, whether within academia or beyond.

The Individual Career Development Plan (IDP) helps you explore career possibilities and set goals, to follow the career path that fits you best. It represents a personalized roadmap for enhancing knowledge, skills, and abilities while identifying potential career paths. The IDP at Helmholtz Munich is an interactive and dynamic action plan that facilitates career success, progress tracking, feedback, and communication. In future, you will collaborate with the Career Center to create and renew your IDP.

Career talks feature alumni sharing insights into various career paths, including academia, industry, and entrepreneurship.

The Helmholtz Munich Career Center offers tailored support to help doctoral researchers and postdocs shape their career paths—from defining their direction to mastering the application process. Targeted workshops provide key insights, reduce repetitive questions in coaching, and address common career challenges in a broader setting.

The workshops are designed to build on one another, but each also works independently, offering valuable insights regardless of which session you attend.
