Project
Mariana is interested in advancing our knowledge of obesity and related metabolic disorders by using genomic and phenotypic data from large human cohorts.
At HI-MAG, she has access to unique, richly characterized childhood cohorts, including LIFE Child, the Leipzig Obesity Childhood Cohort, and the Adipose Tissue Childhood Bank at Leipzig University.
She is currently focused on understanding how genetic risk for childhood obesity manifests early in life, and how those at highest risk can be identified as early as possible.
