A Platform for Emerging Talent: The Helmholtz Munich Talent Forum 2025

Events Stem Cells IES

The Helmholtz Munich Talent Forum took place on November 18–19, 2025, at the Helmholtz Munich Conference Center, bringing together eight outstanding early-career scientists from around the world working in the fields of Epigenetics and Nucleic Acids Research.

Organized by Prof. Maria-Elena Torres-Padilla, Director of the Stem Cell Center at Helmholtz Munich, the symposium is a strategic initiative aimed at introducing promising future group leaders to Helmholtz Munich. Its purpose is to present current research, encourage international scientific exchange and strengthen connections with emerging leaders in life sciences.

In addition to the invited talks, the program included a keynote lecture by Dr. Boyan Bonev, Principal Investigator at the Helmholtz Pioneer Campus, as well as a round-table session providing insights into funding opportunities and the research environment in Germany. This session was open to both invited speakers and selected postdoctoral researchers from Helmholtz Munich.

The event drew an engaged audience of students, doctoral candidates, postdocs, and senior scientists from the greater Munich research community – including Helmholtz Munich, the Max Planck Institutes, Ludwig Maximilians University, and the Technical University of Munich – as well as participants from beyond the region. Over one and a half days, attendees took part in presentations, discussions, and networking opportunities.

By bringing together emerging scientific leaders and facilitating open exchange, the Helmholtz Munich Talent Forum 2025 highlighted the organization’s commitment to advancing research and supporting the next generation of scientists.
