Research Area

Anna Santallúsia Ballarín has been working as a PhD student in COMI since August 2026, focusing her work on the assessment of land use intensity and biodiversity on soil nitrogen (N) cycling in grasslands. In particular, investigating the link between biological nitrogen fixation and the fate of fixed N in soil organic nitrogen (SON) retention pools, as well as potential changes in the soil microbiome. Her work is embedded into the project BE_BioMONII part from the Biodiversity Exploratories.
