Academic career and research areas

Birgit Linkohr coordinates the KORA study fieldwork and leads the research data management with the KORA study PI Prof. Dr. Annette Peters and the study physician Dr. Margit Heier. Her focus is on the collection and provision of high-quality data and metadata as well as support in collaborating with KORA.

Birgit Linkohr started out in clinical research in the Pharma Industry before joining the Institute of Epidemiology in 2009. She coordinated the BMBF-funded KORA-Age project on Health in Old Age from 2009 to 2014. In 2015, she took on the coordination of KORA Cohort and the Research Data Management. Since 2018 she is involved in the StMPG-funded DigiMed Bayern project and various smaller third-party funded projects. 

She works on the implementation of the FAIR criteria to the long-established KORA study for longitudinal and multi-omics analyses as well as for participation in national and international research consortia. Additionally, she is interested in projects looking at changes in risk factors in the KORA Cohort over time.
