Leontine Sandforth receives Hellmut Mehnert Project Grant from the DDG
This year, the German Diabetes Association (DDG) has awarded the prestigious Hellmut Mehnert Project Grant to our colleague Leontine Sandforth. Named after the renowned diabetologist, the grant is awarded annually for the best-rated project proposal submitted to the DDG and supports outstanding scientific projects in the field of diabetology.
The funded project aims to investigate how calorie-free sweeteners affect the brain’s insulin response compared to sugar. The goal is to generate new insights into sweeteners, which are increasingly present in our daily diets but remain poorly understood.
We congratulate Leontine Sandforth on this important recognition and are delighted about the acknowledgement of her innovative research.
